MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS ARE THE FIRST TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY EACH MONTH.

 

These are the NEW visions for 2009-2010.

Short-Term Goals (Short-term goal should be accomplished within a reasonable amount of time, and have the support of all the officers and members.)

  • Improve political ties and representation
    •     CO/XO and other base agencies
    •     Local politicians
    •     Get more involved in the IAFF FIREPAC
    •     Conduct a FIREOPS-101 in concert with other locals
  •  Safety of the employees
    •     Standard Operating Procedures    (ALWAYS IN PROCESS!)
    •     Improved firefighting gear    (ALSO IN PROGRESS!)
    •     Improve our oversight of the fire based Emergency Medical Services
    •     Prevent cross-staffing at all costs!
  • Provide moral and welfare benefits for the employees
    •     Picnics, parties, etc.    (as soon as we're fully staffed and overtime subsides)
  • Utilize Membership-Pro software to its potential
  • Utilize established sub-committees to their maximum effectiveness
    •     NFPA 1500 Safety
    •     ARFF / Structural
    •     Hazardous Materials
    •     EMS
    •     Wildland
    •     Rescue (Confined Space & USAR)
  • Establish a facilities committee to address quality of life issues.

Long-Term Goals  (Long-term goals are expected to take more time and effort to complete.  However, they should be achievable none-the-less and have the support of the all officers and the membership.)

  • Groom politicians to represent our needs (Congress, Senate, State, Local)
  • Amend the Local Constitution & By-Laws
  • Develop, approve, and implement a fundraising campaign for the M.D.A.(
    • "Fill the Boot" - through partnership with Kings County FF Association (IAFF Local 3747)
    • On-Line sales - tee & sweatshirts, Cookbook, Suggestions, etc.
