President: James
"Rick" Durr is enduring his second term as President after previously serving as
Vice President and two terms as Chief Steward. Mr. Durr is an engine
captain, and holds specialties in hazardous materials, rescue, EMS, training, supply,
fire service administration, and negotiations. He is referred to as our
"cyber-geek", and currently selected to be the Union's webmaster.
Vice President: Douglas
Affolter is a returning Vice President, and a welcome member of the Partnership
Council. Doug has made a name for himself as a "bull-dog" in the research
arena. He has proven his worth time and again during some of our most
heated negotiations, while allowing his 'passion' present itself in "robust
debate"! Never ask him, "What's that?" nor leave a jelly sandwich laying
around. "Ahee, Boo Boo!"
Secretary / Treasurer:
Paul Vargas is currently serving his fifth term as Secretary / Treasurer.
He has managed to keep us all outta jail; all the while doing his part in
modernizing the office and playing techno-wiz for the members. Mr. Vargas
has taken on managing our wildland supplies and services all the small engines
in the department.
Chief Steward:
Seth Randalls is currently serving a new term as chief steward following an
exhaustive term as B-Shift Steward. Mr. Randalls is an assigned
Driver/Engineer and is into trucks! His collateral duties are the trucks,
monthly reports, and most anything having to do with the trucks.
Passionate, huh?
A-Shift Steward: Alan "Dale" Michalec is currently serving
his first term as shift steward for A-Shift. Mr. Michalec is a resident
expert in pump testing. He's also involved helping the Cal-Fire guys up in
Delhi, CA when not leading someone into mischief here at work!
B-Shift Steward: Antonio Guadron accepted the
position as B-Shift steward. Mr. Guadron is extremely involved in many
things both on and off duty. He also serves as an E-6 in the Naval
Reserves.
The Executive Board is comprised of three members elected by their
peers to provide oversight of the organization. It's good PR and resume
stuff, but they are rarely called upon. They are Ron Yungling, Frank
Avinelis, and Steve Hallert.
Elections are held every two years.
